2019 West Michigan Championship - September 28th, 2019
Please join us for our 2nd annual West Michigan Championships! Last year's event was a great success and we continue to expect the event to grow. Come out for action across four sections with a nice prize fund as well. This will be a swiss tournament played across four sections with four rounds being played. CHAMPIONSHIP, U1500, U1200 & NOVICE/UNRATED. Novice will play at a time control of G/30 with a 5-second delay.
USCF Memberships are required
Time Control: G/60 & 5-Second Delay
Rounds: For Top Three Sections: 9:00, 11:15, 1:45, 4:00. For Novice: 9:00, 10:30, 12:00, 1:15
Championship: $35 if pre-registered, $45 on-site.
U1500: $35 if pre-registered, $45 on-site.
U1200: $30 if pre-registered, $40 on-site.
NOVICE: $25 if pre-registered, $30 on-site.
CHAMPIONSHIP: 1st Place - $100 2nd Place - $50
U1500: 1st Place - $75 2nd Place $50
U1200: 1st Place - $75
NOVICE: 1st Place - $50
Prizes are offered based upon sign-up. All are subject to change depending on turnout.
Inagural Caledonia Quick Mini-Swiss - October 26th, 2019
As a new initiative for the greater Grand Rapids area we will be hosting more regular events throughout the year beyond our two major current events (Grand Rapids Spring Classic & the West Michigan Championships). This will be kicked off with our inagural Caledonia Quick Mini-Swiss! On October 26th there will be a 3-round mini-swiss played on the south side of Grand Rapids. Read below for more details!
Location: Kent District Library, 6260 92nd Street SE, Caledonia 49302.
Rated: USCF (United States Chess Federation) rated section. USCF Membership required. Each rated section will be divded into 6 or 8-player groups.
Unrated: This section will be managed the same way the rated section will be except that it will NOT require a USCF membership to play.
Entry Fee: $5
Entry fee is paid on site at the registration table.

Round 1 - 10:45
Round 2 - 12:15
Round 3 - 1:30
Time Control: G/25 with no delay.
Prizes: $10 to each winner in each section.
